Firmware Engineer

Reach Technologies has an immediate opening for a firmware engineer to develop a Software-Defined Radio in concert with our established team of engineers. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience developing firmware (including FPGAs) for embedded applications.

Responsibilities

  • • Work with the product development team, developing FPGAs and Linux-based drivers and applications
  • • Work with our service team providing exemplary application and technical support to Fortune 500 customers
  • • Work with the production team on process and test procedure development
  • • Work with the business development department on new product opportunities and marketing collateral

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED
    • • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or Computer)
    • • Firmware design:
      • ∘ Linux (OpenEmbedded/Yocto)
      • ∘ Drivers (PCIe, NVMe)
      • ∘ Languages (C, Go)
    • • FPGA design:
      • ∘ SoC/MPSoC/RFSoC (Zynq-7000, UltraScale+)
      • ∘ IDE (Vivado)
      • ∘ Languages (VHDL, Verilog)
    • • Engineering best practices, processes and standards
    • • Ability to work remotely while collaborating with a team (MS Sharepoint, MS Teams)
    • • Read and understand hardware schematics and HDL
    • • Strong design and implementation skills
    • • Strong organizational skills
    • • Source control system experience (Git)
    • • Familiarity with RF lab equipment (Spectrum analyzers, VNA, etc.)
    • • Technical writing experience
    •   Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • PREFERRED
    • • Systems Level Design and Implementation
    • • DSP Design:
      • ∘ GPU (CUDA, GPUDirect)
    • • Software Design:
      • ∘ Protocols (PTP (IEEE-1588), NTP (RFC 5905), MQTT)
    • • Hardware Design:
      • ∘ Schematic Capture (Altium)
      • ∘ PCB Layout (Altium)
    • • RF Design:
      • ∘ Software-Defined Radio concepts and applications
      • ∘ Analog and Digital RF Modulation (FM, PSK, QPSK)
